Valentine's Day is 1 Month Away!

Valentine's Day is only a month away. I know a lot of people don't love Valentine's day and think it is a commercial holiday, however I think the month of February needs a little pick-me-up and Valentine's Day does the trick.  All week long I've been working on all the things that make being an adult not fun - health insurance, taxes and book keeping.  It's been a downer, so I was super excited to see all these cute monogrammed items just in time for Valentine's Day.  HeartStrings just came out with a ton of really great monogrammed gifts: round beach blankets, seersuck baseball caps, lots of new monogrammed jewelry, monogrammed bags and more!  So call, email or stop by and pick out some sweet gifts for all your loves.

For any of you who've followed me for a while you'll know that I love to start my year with my new Graphic Image calendar.  This year I had a little helper decide on the color...  

Here are a few things going on:

1.  Although the holidays are over, now begins the time of thank you note writing.  Embossed Graphics, which has great basics, is having a buy one set of 50 notes and receive a second set of 50 notes for free (basically 100 notes for the price of 50).  

2.  Wedding season also begins now.  One of my favorite vendors, Arzberger Stationers, is offering 10% off wedding invitations through February 28th.

Holiday Card Open House

Holiday Shopping Card Begins...

The American Cancer Society's Holiday Shopping Card begins on Thursday, October 20th.  This is a great project and I'm proud to say that Hayden Avery has been participating in this seasonal event for the last 10 years +.  Each year The American Cancer Society sells the Holiday Shopping Card for $50, which goes directly to The American Cancer Society.  Then, many local retail stores, restaurants and other businesses in Austin offer 20% off to those with the card.  This is when the holidays actually kick off for me.  Most of my clients order their Christmas and Holiday cards during this event, as well as try to get some of their gifts checked off their lists.  If you haven't participated before please do so.  I am the queen of justifying purchases, and the Holiday Shopping Card equates guilt free shopping in my mind...  I'll just leave you with that (as well as the details).

Christmas Card Specials

Once again, to motivate all of us out here with really good intentions, a lot of our vendors are offering specials on Christmas/Holiday Cards.  As the saying goes, "The early bird gets the worm"...

50 for $99 - Crane & Co. Sale

This fall Crane & Co. is having a stationery sale.  It is somewhat similar to a sale they had a couple of years ago.  It is 50 pieces of thermographed stationery for $99 and then if you want the return address on the envelope flap that is an additional $60.   It is a fun sale because customers are not overloaded with options.  There are 2 colors of card stock to choose from (white and ecru) and then 2 styles of card stock (flat card and a folded note).  Then you select from 8 ink colors and 13 type styles.  Boo - stationery order completed!

Sale Season!

There are a few sales that are taking place right now.  The first is that Page Stationery is offering 10% off of all custom stationery (digital and letterpress).  It is through this month, so you still have a few days to place the order.

Camp Stationery

It is that time of year again - summer!  

Time to order personalized stationery for your camper.  You can order camp specific stationery, with their camp name, tribe, camp colors, etc.  Or you can just select a cute design that they can use year round.  Camp stationery can be designed and printed within 4-5 business days.  You can select any quantity - as low as 10 up to as many as you want (the more you order the more cost effective it becomes).  A set of 10 printed cards with blank envelopes starts at $18.  I can also wrap and ship this to your camper!

Best New Paper

 I am always on the hunt for fun wrapping paper that can be used for envelope liners (because that means that I don't have to design it and print it myself).  So let me tell you how stoked I was when I found the above wrapping paper.  The scale is perfect for stationery and let's be honest it's a great wrapping paper too.  If you want to buy any from me it is $8 a roll and it is a big roll.  With that being said, I immediately found a use for it.  

I think this is a fun combination of sweet and sassy and modern.  I think it is really going to be a versatile paper and am so excited about it.  Let me know if you want some!

Lots going on to start the new year.  I am going to attempt to keep this super organized (and not ramble).

First there are wedding invitations sales
(for all of you who got engaged over the holidays).

Maximum Productivity

I am at my best when I am busy - so this time of year is my prime for productivity.  Here are a few shots of what I've been up to and none of this includes Christmas cards.

I recently have ordered quite a few of the cute Santa placemats.  They were so cute I've actually placed an order for 2 for my little munchkins.  I think they are going to be pretty tickled with them.  Also, I always feel pretty virtuous when I order those placemats because it is a local company (Mayfly and Junebug).

In addition to Christmas cards I've also done quite a few birthday party invitations.  I too have a December birthday, so I always try and make these invitations pretty special because it takes a special person to have a birthday in December!

Finally, as always I was thrilled to get my 2016 Graphic Image Calendar.  It is part of my nerdiness/memory problems that I still order a calendar that you write your appointments in.  I've said it once, I'll say it again - the phone calendar does not work for me.  This year I am not the only one who will have a Rose Gold calendar.  I'm hoping that means it will be indicative of the year to come (rose-y).  I love these calendars but Graphic Image makes so much more and they are amazing gifts: passport covers, photo albums, picture frames, hand bags, coasters, desk accessories.  They are all leather, made in the United States and can all be personalized.

Gift Tags

One of my clients is REALLY on the ball this year.  She just ordered her Christmas gift tags for teacher gifts, etc.  Nice work!  I thought I would go ahead and post this and perhaps it would motivate us all... Perhaps?  

If you are not there yet - no worries, neither am I.  Maybe someday I will be that person who is organized and on the ball (like when my children are grown).  One can only hope.  Until then, we'll all just strive to do our best and be impressed with the people who have moments of incredible organization.  In the meantime, if there is anything I can do to help you get organized let me know.  I am much better helping others be organized than implementing this in my own life.  

Best Time of Year!

I am elbow deep in holiday card and gift orders and it is so much fun.  I love what people are selecting this year and of course it is all custom.  I think I've only had 2 clients select holiday cards exactly as shown in the album.  I am the kind of person that uses their time much more efficiently when busy - so this is my time of year!  There is still plenty of time to order Christmas cards and personalized gifts, so give me a call or shoot me an email and let's do it! 

Stationery baby gifts

In addition to all the great Christmas card orders I've been taking, I've also had a slew of baby gifts that I've done.  I have a handful of clients who have a "go to" gift for baby gifts and it makes things SO easy.  They simple email me with the baby's name and shipping address and I print or order "their" gift, wrap and ship it for them.  It is truly so easy for everyone involved.  I have a couple clients who always do stationery and calling cards.  I think this is such a sweet and practical gift.  The above are some calling cards and note cards that I printed for a third child.  Because their eldest is a girl I thought they might like something other than pink, so I select lilac ink.  I hope they enjoy!

Family Stationery

Last week I finished some stationery for a dear friend of mine (who gives me carte blanche to design what I would like).  I know that one of her favorite colors is read, so I usually try to incorporate red somewhere.  She needed stationery for her family.  Then her 2 girls are learning to write, so she wanted some fill-in notes for them.  For the family stationery I used red and a greyish-blue ink and then printed a corresponding envelope liner.  Then for the girls I tried to do something a little more grown-up for the 1st grader (lavender and grey ink on the note card and a grey envelope).  Then I designed something a little more whimsical for the pre-schooler (hearts) - her birthday is in December, so I thought the red would be a nod to the holidays too.  Well, this family will be set for a while! 

One Week Remains

Where has this month gone?  There is only one week remaining of the engraved stationery sale.  I was going to try to post more to tempt everyone into buying some stationery, but I haven't done that (ugh).  Well, I hope these goodies brighten your day and make you think about ordering some stationery!
