Sidewalk Sale

This coming Friday and Saturday we are having a sidewalk sale!  There will be lots of invitations and stationery that will be marked at least 50% off.  If you have any upcoming parties in the next few months NOW is the time to come buy invitations.  Baby Coco is also participating - the more the merrier!

Baby Shower Invitation

This was the invitation I did for my friends' baby shower that took place on Saturday evening.  Lauren went to LSU and Will's extended family lives in Lousiana - so we (the hosts) selected lavender, yellow and white as "the" colors for the party.  I also added in a light grey ink to ground the invitation and add an accent color.

I got a lot of compliments on the envelope liner that I made.  It is always fun to have a personalized liner to make the invitation that much more special.  If you're wondering how I made the liner - I printed out the design I wanted and then used my handy-dandy envelope liner template to trace out the liners.  Then I cut them out and glued them in the envelope.

Happy Monday!

It's so difficult to start a work week after a super fun weekend.  I'd been looking forward to last weekend for so long.  A group of friends and I hosted a couples baby shower for some dear friends on Saturday night.  The above cocktail napkin was for the shower.  I'll show you the invitation later - but here was what was left over from the envelope liners.  It was such a fun night!  I definitely had the Sunday blues.  I've been trying to pick up the pace all day.

Mark Your Calendar

Mark your calendars for the Hayden Avery and Baby Coco annual sidewalk sale, which will take place on Friday, April 29th and Saturday, April 30th.  I'm actually going to be putting some of our Easter invitations in the side walk sale to make room for new stuff for next year!  So you may see a couple of these invitations that I'm showcasing this week at the sale.  In addition, I'm planning on having some Christmas cards, invitations, stationery and some gifts in the sale.  Look forward to seeing you there!

Easter Weekend Hours

Thought since it's the week before Easter I'd go ahead and feature some Easter invitations that we have in-stock. I've always liked this one by Whitney English.   It matches the colors of the store quite nicely too!

I also wanted to give you all a heads-up that I'm taking a very small "Easter break".  On Friday, April 22nd I will close the store at 3:00 p.m. and stay closed on Saturday.  Hayden Avery will reopen on Monday, April 25th at 10:00 a.m.

If you have little ones and are still looking for something to do this weekend - the Inherit Austin Easter Egg Hunt is on Saturday, April 23rd at 9:30 a.m. at Laguna Gloria.  You can buy tickets at the Heritage Society's website or at the door on Saturday morning.  Click HERE to see my previous post about the Egg Hunt.

Happy 1st Anniversary

Today is the 1st anniversary of Hayden Avery having a shop dog! One year ago today, baby Turley arrived at Hayden Avery.  I obviously think that Turley is a great addition to the Hayden Avery family!  It is so nice to have a buddy here at the store. I think he is the perfect little store mascot.

Julia B. - Custom Linens

One of the vendors whose products I very much admired in January at market was Julia B.   I liked their products so much that I saved their product postcard and put it in my "Vendors of Interest" folder (yes I really do hold on to some of my favorites that I can't always justify buying at the moment).  It's hard not to shop for yourself at market - as many of you know or can imagine.

On Saturday I received the newest House Beautiful where they featured the above pictured Julia B. cocktail napkins in their "the best" section.  It reminded me of the flyer I'd put in my files.

Today I pulled the product post card and went and visited their website and fell in love with their products again.  Julia Berger began Julia B. in 2008 and although it is a somewhat small company, they have a large global footprint.  These monogrammed hemstitched cocktail napkins in all the fun colors make me so happy.

Not surprisingly I liked the "L" on this pillow sham.   Would love to have some pretty pillow shams on my bed
(I'm sure Turley would love them too).

I also really liked these lovely lavender and white shams with the double scallopped edge.  Once again, this only goes to show that I am a fool for monogrammed linens of any kind.

Check out their website - they have great stuff and Julia's personal and work like are reflected in her products!  Maybe someday I'll even get it in the store.

TGIF

I hope you all have a bright and sunny weekend.  I thought that this invitation was pretty, bright and sunny too.
It is by Exquisite papers.

I'm especially excited because I have Saturday off!!!!  Yippee!
It will be my 2nd Saturday off this year (seriously - that's just horrible).  My best friend is in town, another dear friend is getting married Saturday and the weather is beautiful!  What more can you ask for?  We all have Natalie to thank for my super good mood right now (she is working for me on Saturday - so come visit her).

Thank you so very much for making my weekend Natalie!

Fun Cups

I've been busy, busy working on all sorts of fun accessories for quite a few brides.  Here is a picture of some Styrofoam cups a bride's sister ordered for her bachelorette party.  The cups coordinate with the invitation.  All of the little things are what make for a fun and pretty party.  In addition to the cups I've been working on some great bachelorette party invitations, as well as menus, table numbers, place cards, guest book signs and bar signs for another bride.  Lot's of fun stuff!   I'll show you some of this once it is completed.

New Greeting Cards

It's a busy week.
I'm still playing catch-up from yesterday.
But I'm close to being caught up.

I thought I would take a moment to share some new
Mr. Boddington's Studio letterpressed greeting cards that
we recently received.

Each is so unique.
Anyone who receives one of these will know they are loved.

And isn't that how we want all of our
friends and family members to feel?

TGIF - No, Seriously

I know that typically on Fridays I feature one of the store's in-house boxed invitations.  Well, today is a departure from that...  Today is one of those Fridays that I am SO thankful for.  Perhaps it started on Wednesday, when I thought it was Thursday.  Therefore thinking for most of the day that the next day was my much anticipated Friday.  So I literally feel like I have been waiting for Friday for days.  It's been a hectic week, needless to say.  The bright spot of my day has been getting my Jack Rogers replacement sandals!  Yep - that's right, I put them on as soon as James (the UPS driver) dropped them off.

If you are wondering why they are replacement sandals, it's because this cute little guy, Mr. Turley, decided one night that he liked my Jack Rogers sandals as much as I did.  That's right - he ate them!  I am super happy to have a new pair!   I will be keeping these on the top shelf of my closet so he cannot get to them.  Speaking of  Mr. Turley...

This is literally what he is doing right this second.  He is completely exhausted because a child just chased him around the store for 20 minutes barking at him.  Yes - the child was barking at the dog.  Poor guy - he deserves this nap.  We're both happy it's Friday!  At least Turley will get the day off tomorrow.

I hope you all have a most wonderful and relaxing weekend.  I apologize from my departure of actual store product related topics.  Oh well, keeps it interesting, right?

Spring Special from Dabney Lee

Dabney Lee At Home is having a $20 off sale on their 8.5" x 11" Lucite Trays.  They normally retail for $120, so you can now get it for $100 through April 20th.

I have a square one that I keep on my family room coffee table to put remotes in and I love it!  These two bad photos are my "handy work" (if you want to use these photos on your blog, please give me the photo credit).  However, I thought they might be helpful in showing a close up of the trays, as well as illustrating that there are plenty of patterns and monogram styles to choose from.

If you're into animal print - here you go.  But seriously there are SO many fabulous patterns to choose from.  These are super fun to pick out, super fun to look at and would be a great gift
for a bride or a mother's day gift.

Stationery Sale from Crane & Co.

Spring is always a busy time of year.  Right now we have several vendor sales going on for the Spring.  I'll try and share one everyday this week (even though today is Tuesday and it is my first post of the week) - because there is lot's a great stuff to be had and even better when it is on sale!

Crane & Co. just began a new stationery sale.  If you buy 75 or more pieces of stationery, you get 25 for free.  The sale includes calling cards, folded notes, flat cards and letter sheets.
Pretty tempting huh?...

TGIF

I have NO plans this weekend (except for working tomorrow - but that's a given)!  It is supposed to be pretty weather, so I'm hoping to do some gardening.  Thought this invitation by Lemon Tree press was an appropriate representation of spring gardening (the back of the invitation is chartreuse and the envelope has a scalloped oval where you address it).  I hope you all have a marvelous and relaxing weekend.

P.S. - Happy April Fool's Day!
