Talley Ho!

A couple of  weeks ago I'd written about a new vendor we were getting, that would replace Galante
(click Here to read that entry).

Well, our samples and products arrived today and we adore them!  The vendor is Talley Ho Designs and we couldn't be more pleased with the product, the fabric options and the super nice customer service.  They make each bag by hand and there are 12 different bags to select from.  The small round ones pictured above are the 4" jewel rounds and there is also a larger 6" jewel.  The jewel rounds are lined in velvet.  The rest of the bags are all different cosmetic bags - for your purse, for your home and travel bags.  The cosmetic bags are lined in a plastic that can be wiped out if there is a spill.

What could be more fun than designing your own one-of-a-kind make-up bag.  There are an abundance of fabrics to select - seeksuckers, ginghams, satins and moires.  You can order plain or with the appliqued monogram (to match your trim).  If you prefer the thread monograms we can take care of the too!

I obviously ordered one for myself and can't wait to use it.

En Fuego Friday

It is hot today - and I love the heat, but it is hot inside the store too.  Aren't you sad that you aren't shopping in my warm store right now? Things have been quiet at the store today and I'm guessing it is because everyone is at the pool (that's where I would like to be).

I don't know is you can really see - but this is my thermostat in the store that is reading 86 degrees - I repeat 86 degrees IN the store.  Hopefully the AC people will be here Monday morning to replace the coil that is clearly not working correctly in my AC unit.

Is it time for a G&T yet?...  Happy Friday!

MomAgenda

MomAgendas are here!  These are a big hit with lots of our customers.  We have the desk versions in orange, hot pink, aqua, zebra and then a spiral bound.  They run on a school year - beginning in August and then running through the following August (the extra month allows you time to re-buy for the next school year).  With the summer flying by - it will be the new school year before we know it!

Dr. Mark's Birthday

Dr. Mark's birthday was Saturday and I had a birthday party in celebration.  There is no motivation like having a party to make you want to clean your house. Unfortunately, before the party I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off - so I wasn't able to take any photos of everything set-up.  Here are a few snippets of the outside decor as well as the flowers I used.  His invitation was a simple ivory card stock with an embossed border and the text was in navy and a lighter blue ink.

Sidewalk Sale

This is what our entire back room/office looks like right now.  Hot pink tissued boxes full of sale items.  We're in the midst of preparing for our sidewalk sale.  Stop by if you live in the area.  The hours are Friday (tomorrow) from 9:30 a.m to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

bachelorette koozies

The highlight of my day was having the UPS man
deliver these super cute koozies,
for a customer that is throwing a
bachelorette party this summer for her sister.
I'm really liking the border!

Rainy Wednesday

It doesn't rain too often in Austin.
I feel like just about every summer we have "drought" conditions.

There was so much thunder and lightening last night
and then we got lots of rain.
I'm stoked that it again rained on my designated watering day!

I planted some more flowers in my front yard yesterday morning - so I'm thrilled they are getting watered too.

But when you need an umbrella here - you really need it.
So why not have a fun one with your name or monogram?

Gallante Replacement

A few months back I'd written about how one of my favorite vendors, Gallante, had closed because their building had burned along with all their machinery and patterns.  Here is the story from February.

Well, I've FINALLY gotten a replacement!!!  The new company does the travel bags, the cosmetic bags and jewel rounds.  I just received their fabric swatches in the mail today and am thrilled with the prospects!  Can't wait to start creating.

Photo Shoot

Now that things have slowed down for the summer I really have to start checking things off my "To Do" list.  This is the "To Do" list that I've been putting off "because I'm too busy"...  So one of those things is getting my website updated.  I am one step closer to that goal thanks to my friend Lauren (check out her blog here).  Lauren, who is a fabulous photographer in her "spare time",  lives in Houston, but was in Austin for the weekend.  She graciously came to the store on Sunday and took product photos for my website.  I feel relieved and invigorated to have a huge step in the right direction towards completing the updated website.  Saturday afternoon I bought some roses for the photo shoot and look how lovely they are today!  It is always nice to have fresh flowers.  BTW- that is NOT a photo Lauren took - I took that one, hence the glare, etc.

Hope you have a good Monday!

Trickling In

We are FINALLY getting some rain - thank goodness.  It poured last night (which was my designated watering night - which saved me from changing the hose position all night) and then this morning it has been sprinkling.

I hope we get a lot of boxes from UPS today.  In addition to the trickling sky - A lot of the items I ordered in New York are starting to trickle into the store.  Yesterday we received these great invitations from Prentiss Douthit. I love the blue foiled fork on this striking invitation.

I think that any of these invitations would be fabulous for dinner parties, rehearsal dinners, bridemaids luncheons - so versatile without being bland.  They all come in boxes of 10 so they can be ordered for a small party or a larger party.  Fun, Fun!
