Show & Tell

So we put up the Christmas tree (in October).
As I am such a generous person -
I figured I'd share these photos with you!
Basically, if I have to look at this -
why not make you look at it too (before Halloween).
The up side to all of this is I do think some of these ornaments are pretty cute.  So I included a picture of my favorite 3.
Some of these may be coming home with me...
I say that a lot, don't I?

Holiday Shopping Card

We have been busy, busy getting the store ready for the Holidays.
I am always bummed to have to put Christmas up before Halloween - but such is the retail industry.
But I mean, really - I have to put up the store's Christmas tree today or tomorrow...

All of this in preparation for the American Cancer Society's Holiday Shopping Card, which begins on Friday.  The Holiday Shopping card is $50 (which goes to benefit the American Cancer Society).  There is a whole handbook of participating vendors in Austin - where you can recieve 20% off your purchases from Friday, October 29th though Sunday, November 7th.  I actually always feel like the Holiday Shopping Card really is the kick-off of the holidays.  So, come buy your Holiday Shopping Card from us, help the American Cancer Society and check your Christmas Cards and Christmas shopping off your list!

Check your Calendar

I went to a meeting earlier this week and realized, as I was trying to write down dates for 2011, that I am very soon going to need to order a new calendar (can you believe it's almost 2011?).  I'm old school - I still like to write things down.  For some reason I cannot use my phone and still keep my days straight.  I have to see everything on paper.  That is why I adore the Graphic Image calendars.  They make several different sizes and orientations.  I'm a "week on a page" kind of girl.  But you can also get a week on 2 pages, a day to a page and even a check book size calendar.  Being the monogram lover that I am - I love that you can have your calendar personalized.  Now I just need to figure out what color I want...

Hung On Words

I was going to just post a picture of this cute
7" x 5" Halloween hang-up today.
But then I realized that I've never really posted anything
about this vendor and I think their
products are truly special.

The woman that paints these by hand is Denise Copp and her company is called Hung On Words.
She paints door signs, house numbers, wall plaques, an array of trays, key chains, magnets and more!

This small oval tray is actually mine.
I received it as a gift a couple of years ago, much to my delight.
She has about 3 different oval size trays
and about 3 different round size trays.

This is a sample of her large round tray, which measures 18".
It is a great size!
I think that the large trays make beautiful wedding gifts.
The smaller trays would be perfect for bridesmaids gifts.
When selecting a tray you can choose what kind of font/monogram you would like
as well as what paint colors you would like.

You can even send her a paint chip or fabric swatch if you would like your tray or wall art to coordinate with the decor. Denise has such a talent and an eye - she literally can match fabric swatches exactly!

The holidays are around the corner - time to start adding to your "wish list"!

She can even do some furniture pieces...

"To Go" Cups

In New Orleans the plastic cups they give you
as you are leaving a bar are "to go" cups.
The plastic stadium cups that you get as throws
during Mardi Gras are used as your own personal "go" cups.
They are the best because you never care who goes home with one because you know you'll get to replenish your stash next year
(or at the St. Patrick's Day parade).

In my mind's eye - these cute cups are the same concept.
Plastic, reusable and cute
(also more eco-friendly than styrofoam)!
The "Bubble/Flat" cup and the "Soda/Pop" cup
are a 2-sided creation by Jonathan Adler.
These come in packs of 6 for $13.

This cute frosted "Austin" cup would be so cute for tail gating,
wedding welcome baskets for out-of-town guests
or even just to use as your own "to go" cup.
These are by Inviting Co. and come in packs of 8.
We currently have all of these in-stock.
So come get your "to go" cup and then go out
and enjoy this beautiful weather
(that we only get twice a year if we're lucky).
