Happy Hump Day!

It's been a busy week for me (in a good way).  Here is some stationery for a recent high school graduate that I just finished printing.  She is not "girly" and did not want pink.  So we came up with a more modern, clean design for her.

Blue Elephant Stationery & Calling Cards

I just finished printing these precious matching calling cards and stationery for a little boy.  I think these are both great items that he'll be able to use while he grows-up.   I love their simplicity.

Wish I'd Made It

Looking at these cute "prep work" photos from Dabney Lee's blog made me sad that I did not get to see her happy orange booth at the stationery show.  A ton of work goes into a great looking booth - nice that they were able to utilize some of their awesome wall decals (which make an awesome gift for the college bound).

I know that Dabney Lee is coming out with some new items and I'll get to see them at the beginning of June and then I'll share them with you all!  Click HERE to see some of her fabulous stationery from a previous post I did.

Tie One On (for Father's Day)

Cute new ties from Vineyard Vines - just in time for Father's Day!
If you look closely at the blue one on the right
you'll see that the pattern is little whales.
Happy Hump Day!

P.S. - I have no idea why there is such a big space between the 2nd & 3rd photo, as there does not appear to be a return between the two photos.  Technology...

New Addition

So about 2 years ago I saw a metal, bamboo looking shelving unit on the street.  It was dirty and rusty - but nothing a couple cans of spray paint couldn't fix.  Well, fast forward 2 years and I've FINALLY gotten it painted and had shelves made for it.
I think it is perfect for the store.

I should have taken "before" pictures - lord knows I had plenty of time to take them since this shelving unit literally sat in my car port for 2 years.  But it looks pretty good, huh?  The top 2 shelves are glass and the bottom shelf is a mirror.  I got the shelves made at Alamo Glass.  I also used about 3 cans of spray paint.  So all-in-all this shelving unit cost less than $100.  Nice!

I know that this has very little to do with stationery or invitations - but it is part of the goings-on at Hayden Avery.  The shelves are currently holding a new Crane & Co. promotion that is going on right now.  I'll tell you about that tomorrow
(how's that for a teaser)...

Stationery Show Invitations

Sorry I've been MIA - I wish I could say it was because I've been getting ready to go to the Stationery Show in New York.  Unfortunately, I'm not going to make it to the show this year.  But here are a couple of nice invitations to the show.  The top invitation is a new stationery company named Atticus Paper (I love the name) - I like the rounded corners, the unusual size and the graphic design.  Then, Dauphine Press sent a fabulous invitation (they always do) that is both letterpressed and foil stamped.  We currently carry Dauphine Press.  Although they are coming out with a new album...  So enjoy and have a happy Monday.  I'll try to be better this week posting.

Crane & Co. Summer Sale

Crane & Co. just started a summer sale that would be the PERFECT graduation gift or father's day gift.  The sale is 50 personalized pieces of stationery for $59!  The sale includes letter sheets, folded notes and flat cards.  Return address for the envelope flap is an additional $25 (which probably would not be necessary for high school graduation gifts).  Then envelope liners are also an additional $25.  Take advantage of this awesome sale now.  It takes about 2 weeks for the orders to arrive in the store.

Wedding Reception Signage

The above are a few of the printed materials that we designed for a bride for her upcoming nuptials and reception.  We also printed Table Number Cards, Place Cards, Menus and tags for the favors.  All of the reception items are theme and variation of each other and we used the same fonts for all of her reception printed items as we used on her wedding invitations.  Not that anyone is ever going to hold up the invitation next to your printed reception materials - but it's the small details that make a big difference.

Bachelorette Fun

I recently created some super fun bachelorette party invitations for one of my sweet customers, whose sister is the girl of the hour.  When she came in the store she knew she wanted something clean and sophisticated looking, but still fun.  She selected some of her sister's favorite colors to use as the "theme" of the weekend.  We used navy and hot pink ink on a white card that was then backed with hot pink and pool backer.  We then lined the envelope in a Snow & Graham paper.  I love a lined envelope - and I think it really adds to the overall look of the invitation.

She also ordered plastic cups (for around the pool) and we used the same fonts as the invitations.  I can't get enough of a good "to-go" cup.  Especially ones that bring back fun memories.  So in addition to being practical for this party - the cups also served as a party favor.

Finally, the bride had seen this seahorse on some stationery, so her sweet sister ordered the cocktail napkins for her bachelorette weekend too.  The color combination tied in with the invitation & cups and we used the same font for her name too.  Looking at all of this together makes me want to throw a party!

More Ann Marie Murray

The other day I received some of the more elaborately painted items from Ann Marie Murray, that I'd ordered at Market in January.  Opening her boxes never disappoints.  This little "Catch Happiness" dish may be coming home with me...  It is so pretty.

These little dishes are always some of my favorites.  I actually have the blue one next to my bed, but it's full of earrings and rubber bands right now.  These retail for $42 and would be a lovely Mother's Day gift (which is this coming Sunday - crazy how it always sneaks up).

This is for my mother.  Isn't it lovely?  I can't wait for her to get it. The attention to detail is amazing.
